.. and on go the roof tiles

7th December and the roof tiles go on - and rather windy up there!

The end of November and early December saw work start on the roof over the existing parts of the house.  The plan is to get this done early so that the builders can get on with the inside of the house if the weather is too bad to progress the extensions and do outside work. The new Rosemary tiles are a great match for the old ones, which were largely past it.  We are also replacing the felt roof over the old bedroom with GRP.  This needs to be done at + 5 degrees in dry weather  - so quite a challenge in a Derbyshire winter! We have also booked Pete the sandblaster so that the previously painted internal stone walls will take the new plaster properly.  Quite a noisy job, so hopefully we won't lose too many friends in the village!
